This two-day event was organised by CANRI and AURISA in
conjunction with the NSW Department of Information
Technology and Management (DITM).
Forum Thursday 21 June
The forum attracted over 180 attendees and provided a
full day of presentations followed by the launch of
IMROC's
Sydney
Information Highway project. The day's program
included a presentation ( 944 Kb)
on CANRI by Program Director Jonathan Doig.
Workshop 1 Friday 22 June (am) Sharing natural
resources, environmental and planning information to
meet local & regional needs
This interactive workshop discussed local and
regional requirements and priorities.
Feedback from the
workshop will
be used to inform government programs currently
developing key whole-of-government websites.
The workshop discussion was facilitated by Peter
Cuming from Sustainable
Futures.

Workshop 2 Friday 22 June (pm) Using standard web
technologies to share GIS data online
This technical workshop explained how to share
spatial data online using freely available
OpenGIS-compatible software. Leading GIS vendors
described the support for OpenGIS offered by their
current and planned products.
