CANRI Community Reference Group

The CRG was formed in May 2001 to bring the views of key community stakeholders into CANRI, so as  to ensure the Program is of maximum benefit to the community. Some members of the group may be eligible to claim reimbursement of actual travel costs and sitting fees to attend CRG meetings.

The Catchment Management Authorities of NSW have been announced and their operations are to commence shortly. The NSW Government has been given the charter of providing assistance to CMAs. To this end a directive has been set down by the Data and Information Management Working Group (DIMWG), the CANRI Program Board's new overseer, to fully focus CANRI activities on meeting the needs of CMAs.

Accordingly the CANRI Program Board has re-scoped some projects, and is focusing communication activities on the CMAs. To facilitate this a representative of the CMAs has now replaced the Community Reference Group on the CANRI Program Board.

The CANRI Program Board wishes to thank the CRG members past and present. Their work has been much appreciated, ensuring that a community perspective was available at all stages of the Board's decision-making and deliberations on funding allocation and program directions.
